The duo received the award at the MSFC SFA Awards Ceremony held June 27, 2024. A Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Integration and Test Lead, Troy was quick to credit his outstanding team.
“I work with an awesome group of NASA civil servants and contractors striving to do their best to accomplish the goals and objectives for the Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV),” he said. “It has been my pleasure to work with the MAV V&V Team, specifically defining and developing the GNC MAV V&V activities.”
Brent serves a dual role as both Teammate Principal for ESSCA and Lead System Engineer for the Mars Ascent Vehicle.
“As a member of this amazing cross-section of professionals from all across the U.S., I echo Troy’s statement about our efforts to accomplish what has never been done before on a planet that’s only been landed on, never launched from,” Brent said. “We enjoy being a part of a historic effort, to bring a part of Mars back to Earth. It is a daily joy to bring this vision to reality.”
