Aerodyne Industries LLC presented its President’s Award to Kanishka deSilva for his outstanding support to the JSC Engineering Technology and Science (JETS) contract at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX during the annual awards banquet held April 1, 2021.
The President’s Award, which is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the success of the company, was presented by JETS Teammate Principal, Robin Osborn.
A Project Manager, Kanishka is the backbone of the 21-person Communications and Tracking Engineering group. He was instrumental in the completion of the Gateway Radio Frequency (RF) Subsystem Requirements document, Spectrum requirements, and Boeing and Space-X Verification Completion Notices (VCNs) for RF link requirements in support of the Commercial Crew Program.
An avid runner and cyclist, Kanishka and wife, Shehani, live in Clear Lake, TX. Oldest son, Avin, is a junior studying Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin and youngest son, Anuk, is a freshman at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, studying Economics and plans to transfer to Texas A&M-College Station (Kanishka’s alma mater) in the fall.
