Oklahoma Panhandle State University Alumnus inducted in Class of 2024.
“I was truly overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion upon learning of my induction...As I reflect on this moment, I am filled with a sense of pride for being a part of the OPSU legacy.” — Carl Huddleston
Carl Huddleston, Manager of Command, Control and Communications (C3) Project, Planning and Control for COMET at the Kennedy Space Center, received one of the highest honors when he was inducted into his college’s Hall of Fame.
The Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) Alumni Association presented the 2024 distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame inductees, Carl and Marie Pool, during a ceremony held in the OPSU Student Union Ballroom on April 20, 2024.
(Marie Pool dedicated more than 25 years as a highly respected educator across various Okla-homa public schools.)
“We are excited to pay tribute to Marie and Carl this year; their achievements serve as a source of inspiration for all of us here at OPSU,” said Shawn Joy, the Director of the OPSU Alumni Association.
A native of Texhoma, OK, Carl graduated from OPSU in Goodwell, OK in 1997 and began a 27-year aerospace career supporting the Space Shuttle Program with United Space Alliance (USA) in Houston.
He joined Aerodyne Industries in July 2017 and has distinguished himself with numerous tributes, including NASA’s prestigious Space Flight Awareness (SFA) Award in 2022 for his support to the Ground and Flight Application Software Team (GFAST).
Carl’s continuous support for OPSU has impacted countless students and he attributes much of his success to his formative years at OPSU, which laid the groundwork for his successful career.
“I was truly overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion upon learning of my induction into the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Hall of Fame,” he said. “As I reflect on this moment, I am filled with a sense of pride for being a part of the OPSU legacy.
“This institution not only provided me with an education but also instilled in me values of excellence, perseverance, and community.”
OPSU President, Dr. Julie Dinger, remarked, “Ms. Pool and Mr. Huddleston exemplify the extraordinary achievements of our alumni. Their unwavering dedication to their respective fields and support for OPSU make us at the university and the Aggie alums proud.”
And those of us here at Aerodyne are just as proud.
Congratulations, Carl!
