Dhruvi Narielwala supports JSC Women of Engineering STEM Event

Dhruvi Narielwala and her fellow women engineers inspire students at STEM event

Dhruvi Narielwala, a Structural Loads and Dynamics Docking Engineer for the JETS II Contract, supported an outreach event to motivate female students in Brownsville, TX on Oct. 10-12, 2024.

It was Dhruvi’s third time participating in the annual event, which provided more than 800 high school girls from districts across the Valley, Matamoros, and Reynosa the opportunity to learn from the Women of EG (Aeroscience and Flight Mechanics Division) and ES (Structural Engineering Division) from the Johnson Space Center.

The engineers encouraged female students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

“The event was a huge success; we shared our backgrounds and talked about our journey to how we came to work at NASA and what opportunities are available to them,” said Dhruvi. “It was also an honor to share the stage with Kathryn Leuders, the Starbase General Manager for SpaceX.”

In addition to presentations for the students, the engineers toured the SpaceX launch facility at nearby Boca Chica.

“Personally, I loved being part of this out-reach event and the opportunity to motivate young women to pursue STEM,” said Dhruvi. “Being the only participant in this year’s pool who attended the event before was very helpful with the event organization.”
